The
Mission of Sawyer and Su is to recreate and reenact for the
public the daily life of a sawyer and his wife. We attempt to do
this by using tools and
wearing clothing appropriate to the period. We strive to be "Living Historians" through
the form of a first person impressions.
We reenact in the upper Midwest of the United States. This area of the United States is
known as the Northwest Territory in the late 1700's.
This same area is known as the English Prairie and the Michigan Territory in the early 1800's.
Su and I
reenact time periods spanning from the Revolutionary War
period (1770's) through the Jacksonian period (1830's). This
time span includes many key events such as the Revolutionary War (1770's), the Lewis and Clark
expedition (1804), the War of 1812, and the Black Hawk Wars
(1830's) .
